CGST Bhawan is a Multistorey office building for the GST and its affiliated departments located in Ghaziabad, UP. The building is G+7 with a double basement for parking.

Each of the floor houses the respective departments of GST with department heads at the ends of each floor. The ground floor has more public functions while the top floor has some guest rooms for visiting officials. The U-shape of the building provides ample daylight into the spaces as well as create a self-shaded courtyard for staff activities. The central courtyard with steps leading to the Multipurpose Hall creates a welcoming environment that fosters community interaction and enhances overall wellbeing.

The stone clad façade of the building is based on the barcode language of “Goods & Services tax” wrapped around the building. The barcode has been converted into proportionate solid and glazing modules to create a language for the whole façade. Windows are designed with vertical fins and horizontal shades to allow for natural daylight into the offices and avoiding glare & heat. The exterior wall is a sandwich insulated wall to reduce thermal heat gain.

The CGST Bhawan is 5-star GRIHA rated building and was recently the recipient of the GRIHA exemplary award for Passive Architecture.
